About Me

My name is Tharien de Klerk and I turned 20 this year. As stated on the home page, I'm currently studying BA (Communications and Journalism). The monumental jump from matric to university left me feeling off center and craving a sense of tranquility in the wake of my busy schedule.

Taking up hiking was one of the best decisions I've made in improving myself. I've always loved nature, especially trees and anything close to a river or a waterfall. Getting out there and mixing with nature has the most relaxing effect and allows you to get away from the buzz of the city.

It's a feeling I wouldn't exchange for anything.

The goal of this blog is to write about my experience as a amateur hiker, with the hope that it might help and encourage other adventure seekers. As a Communications and Journalism major, hiking has really become the perfect source for my photography. All the photos and videos on this blog is original and most are unedited, to give off the raw beauty that is the great outdoors.
